The deal between the Gang of Three and Democratic Leader Malcolm Smith fell apart, and it’s great that it did. The “memorandum of understanding” was a naked grab for power on the part of the Gang. If one reads the agreement, they will see in plain black and white lettering that the Gang cares only about power, rather than empowerment. It is nothing if not disgusting. The agreement does nothing to help ordinary New Yorkers, it only gives unearned power to three charlatan state senators. Pedro
